M Den Threadneedle Street<\/h1>

The private members den is a new addition to the already popular M Threadneedle street eatery and was designed and implemented by top London Interior Designers<\/a>, Ren\u00e9 Dekker Design<\/a>. Based on the success of the Den at M Victoria, Martin Williams, the owner, wished to re-create the atmosphere on a grander scale.<\/p>

The original restaurant layout made use of a symmetrical general arrangement with a stair case running through the centre, so the obvious solution was to annexe the underutilised right hand side. This area consisted of a large, double volume floor space edged with the original banquette, two large seating booths, the original Raw bar as well as a smaller space under the Mezzanine level. The client requested that the new Den include a large pool table, a cool cocktail bar, and areas of informal seating as well as a small cinema.<\/p>

It was important for the client that while the Den needed to be private, it could be incorporated back into the main restaurant at short notice should the need require. To this end the award winning interior designers<\/a> added a large double door at the entrance which was an extension of the already existing screens, thus fashioning a wall between the restaurant and the new private members Den. At the other end of the screen wall, a movable folding screen was added to close off the space. To recreate the \u2018club\u2019 mood the luxury interior designers<\/a>cordoned off the space using full length, gold tinted voile curtaining and then added floor uplighters to highlight the fabric for dramatic effect. These drapes extend from the front elevation all the way round to the mezzanine level and are conveniently on runners so that they can be opened or closed at will.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The large double volume space is occupied by a mixture of informal seating, banquette seating as well as formal dining, allowing it to be used in a myriad of ways. The luxury interior designer<\/a>included new rugs and carpeting here to soften the interior d\u00e9cor<\/a> and create a more intimate atmosphere. As the ceilings are really high, the lighting has ingeniously been lowered to give proportion and scale to the space.<\/p>

As the mezzanine floor overlooked the private members area, the designers had upholstered panels made that fitted neatly into already existing screens and these are neatly arranged along the perimeter balcony, creating yet another private space in itself! Under the Mezzanine the client was looking to create a small cinema room, seating about 20 patrons. Again curtains were used to great effect here (thick double sided and interlined for insulation) outlining the shape of the overhead floor creating an intimate space for private viewing. Low comfortable arm chairs are used here, in teal and grey patterned fabrics, with the tell-tale signature use of several fabrics on one chair so deftly employed by the interior designer<\/a>.<\/p>

The actual bar was re-used but the re-design included for a new decorative back bar to screen the members club off from the street as well as further fridges and storage for bottles and glasses. The scheme was completed by adding cognac suede upholstered bar stools<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
